I feel peace. I am peace.
My mind is aware of the silence of within. I sense the vibrancy of life beyond my body.
This is the experience of the day.
The people make their beautiful noises
indicating to me that they are busy inside and out;
Often, this is a comfortable human preoccupation of doing and being.
At night, it’s a different story, but yet the same:
Tucked under the covers snugly beside my wife, I feel her warmth.
It is derived of the same heat emitted by her heart during the day
-- that which induces true happiness in me.
Lying next to her, I observe her briefly:
She is experiencing one of those nice dreams.
Then my attention shifts as my reality
becomes draped in the beauty of silence.
And my consciousness resumes its normal state.
At first, I think I hear what one might call,
‘the fundamental activities of brain.’
It is probably the infinitesimally faint sound
of my neurons communicating with each other;
the physiological residue of my awareness.
Then, after some moments of ‘listening,’ that too, stops.
There only remains the sensation of nothing but the peace which I embody.
I am asleep as space sleeps.
Connected with everything,
and on waking the next morning,
I am love,
I love my family, my wife
My neighbor, my dog,
You
Being one with the universe:
This is the freedom of being one and many
