The Hypothesis:
A start is a beginning, but a beginning starting what?
Maybe its the desire to shift from nothing to something,
If nothing becomes no longer enough?
Is action evolved mental build-up, of an over-loaded mind?
Perhaps the cerebellum is a torrid, flooding riverbank
That natures clean-up crew left behind.
The moment thought transforms to action, a genesis occurs.
Every behavior born from man is a reflection of the psyche
Either controlled by self-awareness, or ejected by unchecked force.
The Reality:
We are accountable for the visible outputs of our personality
The good, the bad, and the ugly manifestations too!
Even if we were not always conducting the neural symphony
Which label would you want associated with you?
Therefore, from wherever resides the monkey within,
Keep an eye on that ape lest the impulsivities begin.
I'm more than a monkey, and the same could be argued of you
But because we are evolved its a challenge to separate from these primordial roots
I just ask for some temporal separation between thought and the behavior that ensues.
Plus it wouldn't hurt to wade across the flooding fissures of my mind with a reliable pair of boots.
The Conclusion:
The propensity to signal our minds intent through behavior is our primate inheritance. Thus, the pathway from mind to muscle must proceed with care. For we don't want to advance agendas others perceive as thoughtless. Ultimately, such haste can only result in an undesired state of cognitive dissonance, or behavior that fails to do justice to thought.
